THE VOGUE FACTOR

The Vogue Factor by Kirstie Clements - When she was just out of high school, Kirstie started as a receptionist at Vogue Australia in 1985 and 15 years later was promoted to Editor!  A good old fashioned hard working, work-your-way-up-the-ladder story which is rarer and rarer in this new world of everyone must have a specialized college degree in order to get that receptionist job in the first place.  She gives a little peek into the rarefied fashion world from the standpoint of someone physically far away from the fashion centers in Paris, Milan and New York.  She's a fine writer, and I enjoyed learning about how the magazine trade used to work compared to how it works now as a magazine business.
