The Gates of Evangeline
by Hester Young - A story about a young woman trying to recover from
personal tragedy. She travels to a new place, and the adventure begins.
This story is packed with tons of different occurrences - its a mystery
with sub-mysteries and by the end of the book, our heroin has come
through to another side. A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity by Bill O'Reilly - I am generally not a fan of opinionators, especially those who espouse their views for money and with such certainty. However, my mother LOVED this book, and wanted me to read it, so I did. You never know, right? It was a nun who branded him as a "bold, fresh piece of humanity" when he was a troublemaking third grader in catholic school in 1957. In between the funny and sometimes interesting stories of this life as a boy and young man, he references (advertises) his other books, and has an opinion about everything. At the end, he dispenses advice and more opinions, such as what to eat and don't be late. It's a memoir, Bill O'Reilly style. The Grownup by Gillian Flynn - When you're the writer of Gone Girl, you can have your short story published as it's own little hardcover book! It's a haunted house, evil step-son, con-woman tale told in the first person by a young woman who knows how to look out for herself. We think.
Her Heart On Her Sleeve: I live in a suburb north of Chicago, and I read, bead, make jewelry, sew, watch TV and movies, crochet, craft, decorate, go to house and garage sales, walk and go on beach walks, listen to music, take pictures, cook and bake, read, and write about all of it on herheartonhersleeve. I have a companion blog called Jewlery by Dianne Sophia at diannesophia.blogspot.com where I write exclusively about my jewelry.
Jewelry By Dianne Sophia: I have been collecting vintage jewelry since I was a girl growing up in Detroit, and have been designing and making jewelry for 15 years. I love to work with pearls and crystals, semi-precious stones, Sterling Silver and Gold, along with vintage beads and materials. I delight in combining shape, pattern and color in new ways. I'm inspired and influenced by my travels and experiences as a reader, writer, photographer and student of life. My blog herheartonhersleeve.blogspot.com chronicles my life in art and popular culture.
