WHAT IS NOT YOURS IS NOT YOURS * THE NEST

Image result for what is not yours is not yoursWhat is not yours is not yours by Helen Oyeyemi - This is a convoluted somewhat difficult-to-read collection of short stories. But....there was something about it that kept me reading. I'm still not sure what. Even though I've claimed it difficult to read, somehow the situations and characters kept me going. It's been almost a week, and I couldn't tell you what it was about. I'm flipping through the pages, and see Ched's, Lucy's and Safiye's names, but not much about what happened to them or who they were comes back to me. There was also something about a library and a garden. I don't know if I liked it and whether to recommend it. You're on your own. The cover is good, and so is the title.

I didn't care about the characters, or their nest, or the writing until some point more than halfway through (I know, I know. I kept reading because it was easy to read and I was really tired when reading and didn't have the wherewithal to figure out which book to read instead/next). Then things started happening and I was curious about what was going on, and it ended just fine.
