The Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale - Thanks to my cousin Shea for mentioning this book on Facebook! I love the title and I love reading the book. The first half is sort of annoying with story after story about people who practiced the Attractor Factor and found huge life success. but then in the second half of the book, Joe starts talking about what it is, and basically, what you put out into the world is what you will get back from the world. It's The Secret light, and I'm a believer and am always striving to practice the concept. "THE ENERGY YOU GIVE OUT IS THE RESULTS YOU GET. That's the Attractor Factor."
Danny Collins- Just go see this movie tomorrow. If you go to the Evanston, it'll be $5.75 Tuesday which makes an excellent movie a real bargain! Al Pacino is an old rock star who's lost his mojo and travels to New Jersey to stay in a small Hilton Hotel in order to get it back. Right at the last minute as you're wondering how it's all going to end, you'll be holding your breath. Happy, sad, funny, charming, human. And I love his 70s song.
The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters - Remind me not to read anything else by Sarah. This story could have been told in half the pages. It features a character named Frances who is constantly cleaning her large Victorian home. One of my pet peeves is when authors have their characters cleaning. These characters spend days cleaning! It's not the cleaning, it's more the character who cleans so much you wonder why you need to be reading about the rest of their life, and about an author who can't think of another thing for the character to do but clean all the time. There's my rant. The first half is overwritten and basically says nothing, then in the second half the action heats up. It's got murder, forbidden love and a trial. Frances doesn't clean as much in the second half. Obviously.
Her Heart On Her Sleeve: I live in a suburb north of Chicago, and I read, bead, make jewelry, sew, watch TV and movies, crochet, craft, decorate, go to house and garage sales, walk and go on beach walks, listen to music, take pictures, cook and bake, read, and write about all of it on herheartonhersleeve. I have a companion blog called Jewlery by Dianne Sophia at diannesophia.blogspot.com where I write exclusively about my jewelry.
Jewelry By Dianne Sophia: I have been collecting vintage jewelry since I was a girl growing up in Detroit, and have been designing and making jewelry for 15 years. I love to work with pearls and crystals, semi-precious stones, Sterling Silver and Gold, along with vintage beads and materials. I delight in combining shape, pattern and color in new ways. I'm inspired and influenced by my travels and experiences as a reader, writer, photographer and student of life. My blog herheartonhersleeve.blogspot.com chronicles my life in art and popular culture.
